Country Director Sudan

About the role

Humanity & Inclusion is seeking a Country Director to lead its operations in Sudan. The role will be based in Khartoum and will start on 1 September 2026, overseeing a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and overall management of HI’s programmes in Sudan.
• Ensure effective implementation of humanitarian and development projects, especially in conflict‑affected areas such as Darfur, Kordofan and Khartoum.
• Represent HI with national authorities, donors, partners and the media, advocating for the rights of people with disabilities and vulnerable populations.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting and resource mobilisation to meet programme objectives.
• Manage security, risk and compliance matters, ensuring staff safety and adherence to organisational policies.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team, fostering an inclusive work environment and promoting staff development.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior humanitarian or development management, preferably in conflict‑affected contexts.
• Proven ability to lead large, multi‑disciplinary teams and manage complex programmes.
• Strong understanding of disability inclusion and the humanitarian sector.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English.
