Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will lead the identification, cultivation and acquisition of funding opportunities for the organization, ensuring a robust proposal development process across multiple stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and research new funding opportunities from bilateral, multilateral and institutional donors, and disseminate information to relevant teams.
• Build and maintain relationships with external partners, donors and private sector entities to secure strategic funding, either as prime or sub‑recipient.
• Lead donor engagement, capture planning and opportunity preparation, coordinating with program, technical, operations and finance teams to assess feasibility and develop high‑level proposals.
• Manage the end‑to‑end proposal development process, creating schedules, tracking timelines and ensuring coordination among MEAL, operations, security, finance, HR and other specialists.
• Support country office capabilities in long‑term capture planning and provide intelligence on donor strategies and competitor activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in identifying and securing funding from international donors and managing large‑scale proposals.
• Strong understanding of the funding landscape in Sudan and ability to cultivate strategic partnerships.
• Excellent coordination skills to work across program development, technical, operations, finance and HR functions.
• Ability to analyse donor requirements, competitor information and assess go/no‑go decisions.
