Business Committee Chair

About the role

The Business Committee Chair works with the local council to build strong relationships between neighbourhood residents and nearby businesses. This part‑time, volunteer‑focused position involves outreach, promotion of events, and coordination of a small committee of volunteers.

Key responsibilities

• Visit and introduce the council to local shops, restaurants and other businesses.
• Gather feedback on business needs and share it with council representatives.
• Promote business opportunities and community events to both residents and merchants.
• Raise awareness among neighbours about ways they can support local enterprises.
• Chair regular Business Committee meetings and organise volunteer activities.

Required profile

• Enjoys interacting with local business owners and community members.
• Comfortable initiating conversations and following up over time.
• Basic organisational abilities to run a small committee.
• Available for roughly three hours per month, with additional time around events such as the Halloween Parade.
