Area Director (Kordofan and White Nile)

About the role

The Area Director will lead Save the Children operations across North Kordofan, South Kordofan and White Nile, ensuring high‑quality, accountable programmes in a high‑risk, volatile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex logistics and ensure staff safety and operational continuity in conflict‑affected areas.
• Engage with government, non‑state actors, NGOs, UN agencies, donors and local institutions.
• Provide strategic leadership, risk management and external representation as a member of the Country Office ESMT and Area SMT.
• Strengthen capacity of staff and partners and oversee programme alignment with country and global strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale humanitarian programmes in conflict‑affected settings.
• Strong ability to navigate inter‑communal violence, contested territories and weak infrastructure while maintaining programme quality.
