Mobile Clinic Driver

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks an experienced driver to operate its Mobile Clinic truck in Sudan, ensuring safe and punctual transport of medical teams and equipment to outreach locations.

Key responsibilities

• Drive an 18‑metric‑ton truck on paved, unpaved and difficult terrain while complying with Sudan traffic laws.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, security, and regular checks of brakes, tyres, suspension and load‑securing systems.
• Log official trips, mileage, fuel consumption and maintenance activities in the truck logbook.
• Coordinate with supply‑chain staff to keep insurance, registration and spare‑parts inventory up to date.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience driving heavy trucks of similar class.
• High Secondary Sudanese Certificate (technical diploma advantageous).
• Valid heavy‑truck/commercial driving licence.
• Ability to work long, irregular hours and travel extensively across rural Sudan.

Required skills

• Operation and basic maintenance of heavy‑truck systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Basic first‑aid kit training (advantageous).
• Arabic speaking and writing; basic English communication.
