Safety Officer – Site Safety Management

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Safety Officer to lead the implementation and monitoring of safety policies on our construction sites. The role ensures compliance with legal regulations, promotes a strong safety culture, and protects employees, equipment, and the work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain site safety plans in line with organizational policies.
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses, and apply appropriate control measures.
• Perform regular safety audits, inspections, and documentation of compliance and corrective actions.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety orientations for new staff and subcontractors, and ongoing safety awareness programs.
• Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare reports, and develop preventive action plans.
• Maintain safety statistics, records, and reporting systems.
• Review subcontractors’ safety programs for compliance with company standards.
• Monitor high‑risk activities such as work at heights, electrical installations, lifting operations, and hot work.

Required profile

• Proven experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in construction or industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of local health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Ability to communicate safety procedures clearly to diverse workforces.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills for incident investigation.
