Safety and Health Officer

About the role

Medine Property | Support Services (Health & Safety) is looking for a Safety and Health Officer to assist the Manager in reviewing, developing, implementing and monitoring the group's occupational risk and resilience aspects.

Key responsibilities

• Control: carry out regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards, analyse safety data and recommend improvements, and run safety training sessions for employees.
• Administration: generate incident and injury statistics for management, prepare and present reports on incidents and violations and determine their causes.
• Risk assessment: help conduct regular risk assessments across departments, identify hazards and propose ways to reduce risks, and investigate accidents and incidents to find root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Training and education: help identify, design and deliver occupational risk training and programmes, and educate employees and stakeholders on risk and resilience policies and procedures.
• Policies and procedures: support the development of occupational risk and resilience policies and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Other duties as required by the employer.

Required profile

• 3 years of proven experience in a similar role.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of H&S legislation and procedures.
• Experience writing reports and policies for H&S.
• Strong communication skills, investigative mindset, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
