Protection Senior Manager – Women’s Protection & Empowerment

About the role

The Protection Senior Manager (Women’s Protection and Empowerment) leads and oversees all WPE programming in North Darfur, ensuring survivor‑centred services in a highly volatile humanitarian context. This field‑based position coordinates with health, economic recovery, and other sectors to maintain and scale up protection services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and oversight of WPE programming, ensuring safe, survivor‑centred service delivery.
• Ensure high‑quality implementation of GBV case management, psychosocial support, referrals, and emergency response, with a focus on conflict‑related sexual violence.
• Translate country‑level WPE strategies into effective field‑level implementation plans and adapt programming to evolving security and displacement dynamics.
• Guarantee adherence to global GBV standards, IRC policies, and WPE SOPs.
• Oversee ethical and secure use of GBVIMS, ensuring data quality, confidentiality, and trend analysis for operational decisions.
• Integrate risk mitigation measures across all WPE activities.
• Directly supervise WPE officers, case workers, outreach workers, and other staff, fostering a supportive and learning‑oriented team culture.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in gender‑based violence (GBV) programming and protection in conflict‑affected settings.
• Proven senior‑level operational leadership and technical oversight abilities.
• Strong capacity to supervise multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with multiple sectors.
• Ability to adapt programs to rapidly changing security and access conditions.
• Commitment to survivor‑centred approaches and high standards of confidentiality.

Required skills

• GBVIMS (Gender‑Based Violence Information Management System) data management.
