Program Associate – Civilian Protection (Khartoum)

About the role

The Program Associate will support the delivery of civilian‑protection programmes in Khartoum, working closely with the Senior Program Officer and other programme staff. The role involves day‑to‑day assistance to the team and local partners, helping to design, coordinate and implement community‑engagement activities that align with CIVIC’s protection objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design, coordination and implementation of community engagement initiatives, including self‑protection workshops and locally‑led projects.
• Provide operational, procurement and logistical support to ensure programme activities are delivered on schedule and in line with organisational procedures.
• Support coordination with stakeholders such as community members, civilian leaders, government representatives and humanitarian actors.
• Help monitor and report on programme progress, contributing to documentation and data collection.
• Facilitate training sessions and capacity‑building activities for partners and beneficiaries.

Required profile

• Strong interest in humanitarian protection and experience working in conflict‑affected settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Organisational aptitude with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
