Operations Officer

About the role

The Operations Officer will act as a Strategic Business Partner for UNICEF in Kassala, Sudan. You will support a wide range of operational functions, ensuring efficient, risk‑informed services that enable programme delivery for children.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate operations support across budget, financial management, reporting, facilities, administration, supply & logistics, ICT, human resources, and safety & security.
• Analyse business needs and propose value‑for‑money solutions.
• Support ICT management, information security, and related controls.
• Implement procurement and logistics strategies that meet programme requirements while ensuring value for money.
• Manage office premises with focus on accessibility, eco‑sustainability, and shared spaces.
• Process business transactions through the Global Shared Services Centre, emphasizing efficiency, risk management, and fraud prevention.
• Assist with internal and external audit reviews, respond to observations, and monitor recommendation implementation.
• Support PSFR (Programme Support and Financial Reporting) operations where applicable.

Required profile

• Proven experience in multi‑functional operational environments, preferably within international organisations.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to provide risk‑informed, solution‑focused advice.
• Understanding of procurement, finance, logistics, ICT, HR, and security processes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners.
