Head of Programme Support Unit Sudan

About the role

The Head of Programme Support Unit will lead the development and continuous improvement of NRC Sudan’s grant portfolio, ensuring compliance with programme cycle management (PCM) standards and delivering high‑quality monitoring and evaluation (M&E) across the country programme.

Key responsibilities

• Provide line management, coaching and development for programme support staff.
• Support the creation of a multi‑year funding strategy, programme forecasts and identify new funding opportunities.
• Ensure grant‑management compliance and oversee the full project cycle, from proposal development to donor reporting.
• Manage the quality control of donor applications, reports and consortia submissions, including oversight of consortia managers.
• Establish and maintain a robust M&E system with beneficiary feedback mechanisms and integrate data into programme design.
• Train programme staff on NRC’s project cycle management processes and policies.
• Deputise for the Head of Programme and coordinate cross‑cutting thematic areas, including Safe and Inclusive Programming standards.
• Lead programme audits, develop SOPs and contribute to evidence‑based learning.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of senior‑level experience in grant management and programme coordination.
• Proven ability to manage complex donor portfolios and ensure compliance with PCM requirements.
• Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams and overseeing consortia.
• Strong understanding of M&E systems and beneficiary feedback processes.
• Demonstrated capacity to develop funding strategies and respond to changing donor priorities.
