About the role
The Field Security Coordination Officer (FSCO) supports the United Nations Department of Safety and Security in delivering safe and effective UN programmes worldwide. Based in Kosti, Sudan, the officer reports to the Chief Security Adviser and works in a designated hardship, non‑family duty station.
Key responsibilities
- Provide leadership, operational support and oversight of the United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS) globally.
- Coordinate field security activities to enable safe delivery of UN system programmes and activities in complex environments.
- Report directly to the Chief Security Adviser (CSA) on security matters and operational updates.
Required profile
- Willingness to serve in a hardship, non‑family duty station (Kosti, Sudan).
