About the role
The Economic Recovery (Resilience) Team Leader will report to the Economic Recovery Manager and lead the implementation of livelihoods and market development activities across DRC’s bases in Sudan. The role ensures compliance with DRC procedures, translates strategic objectives into actionable plans, and supports the economic empowerment of displaced populations.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, supervise and mentor Economic Recovery field teams, ensuring clear roles, performance monitoring and professional development.
- Develop and monitor detailed work plans, procurement plans and activity schedules.
- Oversee planning, implementation and monitoring of livelihoods, market development, MSME, cooperative development, vocational training and cash‑and‑voucher assistance (CVA) programmes.
- Provide technical guidance on market‑based livelihoods, value‑chain strengthening, entrepreneurship, youth businesses and B2B networking.
- Conduct and validate labour‑market and value‑chain analyses, ensuring integration of CVA with economic recovery and protection outcomes.
- Facilitate regular team meetings, coaching sessions and ensure a safe, inclusive, respectful team culture aligned with DRC’s Code of Conduct.
- Supervise administrative management of the team, including appraisals, leave management and performance reviews.
Required profile
- Experience in humanitarian economic recovery, livelihoods programming or market‑based interventions.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary field teams in challenging contexts.
- Strong understanding of MSME development, cooperative models, vocational training and cash‑and‑voucher assistance.
- Capacity to conduct labour‑market and value‑chain analyses and translate findings into programmatic actions.
