Social Policy Officer – Social Registry & Protection System Design

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Social Policy Officer to support the design and implementation of a national social registry and broader social protection system in Sudan. The role will focus on improving coordination of humanitarian‑scale social assistance programmes and building the analytical foundations for a child‑sensitive, shock‑responsive safety net.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design of an integrated beneficiary registry and related coordination mechanisms.
• Strengthen linkages between programme‑level MIS and emerging system‑level platforms.
• Analyse data to reduce duplication, exclusion errors and improve targeting of social assistance.
• Ensure alignment with UNICEF’s social protection frameworks and international child‑rights commitments.
• Provide technical guidance to implementing partners and government stakeholders on registry and MIS interoperability.

Required profile

• Experience in social protection policy, programme design or related humanitarian contexts.
• Knowledge of UNICEF’s social protection frameworks and Core Commitments for Children.
• Ability to work in a complex, multi‑partner environment and produce evidence‑based recommendations.
