About the role
The Area-Based Coordination (ABC) Coordinator will act as a neutral convener of multi‑sectoral humanitarian coordination at the state level in Nyala, South Darfur. Working within the Cash Consortium of Sudan platform, the role supports collective planning, service‑gap identification and referral pathway improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate joint assessment, planning and coordination among INGOs, NNGOs, UN agencies, private sector and local responders.
- Identify service gaps and support the development of coordinated responses.
- Strengthen referral systems and improve interoperability between emergency and longer‑term programmes.
- Ensure alignment with existing coordination structures such as clusters, INGO Forum and Emergency Response Mechanism.
- Provide field‑level feedback to national decision‑making bodies.
Required profile
- Proven experience in humanitarian coordination at state or sub‑national level.
- Strong understanding of multi‑sectoral programming and coordination mechanisms.
- Ability to work neutrally and inclusively with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills.
