MEAL Assistant

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a MEAL Assistant to support monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities across its programmes. The role will work closely with program staff and the MEAL team to ensure accurate data collection, client feedback, and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with programme teams to collect routine data according to the M&E/MEAL workplan.
• Update indicator tracking tables (IPTTs) and project indicator dashboards.
• Support organization of surveys, client satisfaction tools, and feedback collection systems.
• Conduct initial data reviews and ensure timely sharing with national partners.
• Facilitate information sharing among IRC offices under supervision of MEAL Officer/Manager.
• Gather client feedback during monitoring visits and relay to project staff for action.
• Lead awareness‑raising sessions on feedback mechanisms and organise community engagement activities.
• Maintain up‑to‑date monitoring and client databases and produce simple field reports.
• Assist in updating area action plan trackers and participate in semi‑annual MEAL meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Basic understanding of monitoring, evaluation and client feedback mechanisms.
• Experience or coursework in quantitative and qualitative research methods is a plus.
• Experience working with diverse communities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
