Senior Human Resources Associate

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Human Resources Associate to support its mission of promoting humane and orderly migration. Reporting to the Human Resources Officer and working closely with the National Human Resources Officer, the incumbent will play a key role in recruitment, onboarding, and HR administration across the office.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating staffing needs and coordinate recruitment processes, including drafting Terms of Reference, posting vacancies, screening applications, and participating in interview panels.
• Manage pre‑employment activities such as preparing Entry on Duty documentation, coordinating medical examinations, enrolling staff in insurance plans, and delivering induction sessions.
• Maintain accurate data in the organizational HR system, verify eligibility for allowances and benefits, monitor contractual situations, and generate related reports.
• Oversee attendance and leave administration, produce leave reports, and provide guidance to staff on leave procedures.
• Support the preparation of job offers, reference checks, and other contractual documentation.

Required profile

• Relevant higher‑education qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in recruitment, onboarding, and HR administration, preferably within an international or UN‑type organization.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with headquarters, administrative centers, and local units.
