Roving Area Coordination Lead (INGO Forum)

About the role

The Roving Area Coordination Lead will support the INGO Forum’s humanitarian response in Sudan. Based in Port Sudan and travelling at least 50% of the time, the role ensures effective coordination of aid delivery, common services and advocacy across a rapidly changing conflict environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate area‑based humanitarian activities and align efforts of over 80 INGOs operating in Sudan.
• Facilitate NGO‑led coordination mechanisms and support the Humanitarian Access Working Group.
• Provide analysis and advice on humanitarian access, security and operational constraints.
• Represent the INGO Forum in the Humanitarian Country Team, Inter‑Cluster Coordination Group and other strategic platforms.
• Lead collective advocacy initiatives at national, regional and international levels.
• Ensure compliance with risk and accountability standards, including frequent contact with participants and sensitive data.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in humanitarian coordination or related field, preferably in conflict‑affected settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work with multiple NGOs, donors and government authorities.
• Strong understanding of humanitarian principles, protection standards and access negotiations.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Sudan.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
