Programme Executive for Peace and Social Cohesion in Sudan

About the role

The World Council of Churches seeks a Programme Executive to lead peace and social cohesion initiatives in Sudan. Based in Port Sudan, the role supports churches and ecumenical partners in responding to humanitarian and human‑rights crises.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic consultation, technical support and accompaniment to Sudanese churches and ecumenical organisations.
• Facilitate ecumenical coordination by convening joint planning, information sharing and coordinated actions.
• Advance inter‑religious cooperation through building and maintaining networks among Sudan’s religious communities.
• Deliver capacity‑building support, including needs assessments, training design and organisational development.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian, human‑rights or peace‑building contexts.
• Strong understanding of Sudanese church structures and ecumenical partnerships.
• Ability to lead coordination efforts and foster inter‑faith collaboration.
• Experience in designing and delivering capacity‑building programmes.
