MEAL Coordinator

About the role

The MEAL Coordinator will lead performance monitoring and learning for Welthungerhilfe’s 2026‑2030 Country Strategy in Sudan. Based in Khartoum, the role ensures that monitoring, evaluation, accountability and data management are rigorous, ethical, protection‑sensitive and useful for program improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and periodically review the Country MEAL Strategy and action plan in line with the organization’s standards and donor requirements.
• Establish and strengthen MEAL standards, procedures, tools and quality‑assurance mechanisms for WHH and partner‑implemented programmes.
• Provide evidence‑based advice to the Senior Leadership Team on programme performance, quality risks, evidence gaps and adaptation opportunities.
• Translate the Country Strategy into an integrated performance and learning framework and coordinate regular portfolio performance and quality reviews.
• Offer technical leadership and quality assurance across programme design, theories of change, logframes, indicators, sampling, data‑collection tools and evaluation requirements.
• Oversee risk‑based monitoring approaches, including field, remote and partner‑led assessments.

Required profile

• Proven experience coordinating MEAL activities for humanitarian or development programmes.
• Ability to lead and develop MEAL staff and strengthen the capacity of programme teams and partners.
• Strong understanding of ethical, protection‑sensitive data management and accountability practices.
• Experience translating strategic objectives into measurable performance frameworks.
