Vehicle Fleet Manager

About the role

The International Committee of the Red Cross is seeking a Vehicle Fleet Manager to support its Sudan delegation. Working under the Vehicle Fleet Manager 2, you will help ensure that the fleet of vehicles and generators meets operational needs while complying with ICRC headquarters standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess fleet requirements and allocate resources efficiently according to HQ guidelines.
• Organise training and recruitment of staff in line with security and technical standards.
• Manage fuel supplies, develop contingency plans and monitor consumption.
• Maintain spare‑parts inventory and enforce ICRC control procedures.
• Provide technical input for private transport contracts, especially freight services.
• Oversee all administrative paperwork for vehicles and drivers, including registration, import/export documentation and convoy records.
• Collaborate with site logisticians to secure sites against fire, weapon damage and unauthorized access.
• Ensure compliance with ICRC and national insurance requirements for third‑party and casco coverage.
• Monitor and optimise the vehicle pool to support field operations.
• Administer the FleetWave application, generate reports and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Strong motivation to work in a humanitarian environment.
• Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing operational conditions.
• Experience in vehicle fleet or logistics management is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the FleetWave fleet management system.
