Shift Team Leader

About the role

The Shift Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance activities of a Baggage Handling System environment. This role ensures that shift schedules are optimised, staff competencies are developed, and continuous improvement initiatives are executed.

Key responsibilities

• Manage operations and maintenance teams across all shifts.
• Develop and maintain shift schedules to guarantee adequate manpower and skill coverage.
• Plan, schedule, and distribute daily activities.
• Identify improvement opportunities, create action plans, and drive their execution.
• Rotate staff to broaden competence and ensure coverage.
• Commit to performance improvement and monitor results.
• Coordinate the manual coding team to ensure a unified approach.
• Liaise with the Maintenance Manager on the impact of operations on routine maintenance tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) or other automated systems.
