Senior Operations Manager – Sudan (Roving)

About the role

IMPACT Initiatives is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to establish and lead its field presence in Sudan. The role focuses on building strong partnerships, overseeing field operations, and ensuring high‑quality data collection in a complex humanitarian environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and manage IMPACT’s field operations across Sudan, including recruitment, training and supervision of Field Officers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local partners, authorities and the area‑based‑coordination (ABC) platform.
• Coordinate all field activities, ensuring they meet technical standards, timelines and quality requirements.
• Monitor the security and operational context, identify information gaps and guide assessment planning.
• Report regularly to the Country Representative and maintain strong links with research units in Nairobi.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing field operations in humanitarian or crisis‑affected settings.
• Proven ability to work in insecure environments and adapt quickly to evolving contexts.
• Strong leadership and team‑building skills, with experience hiring and training field staff.
• Excellent coordination and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
