Senior Finance Lead

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is looking for a Senior Finance Lead to head the financial management of an upcoming FCDO‑funded humanitarian project in Sudan. This role will support the IRC’s mission to mitigate conflict‑driven mortality, morbidity and protection risks for vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all finance activities for the FCDO‑funded project, ensuring accurate budgeting, expenditure tracking and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with IRC financial policies, donor requirements and Sudanese regulations.
• Coordinate with program teams to align financial planning with operational needs.
• Prepare and submit regular financial statements and donor reports.
• Provide financial guidance and oversight to field offices across multiple states.

Required profile

• Solutions‑driven professional with a passion for humanitarian impact.
• Proven experience in senior finance roles within NGOs or international development.
• Strong understanding of donor‑funded project finance, especially UK government (FCDO) funding.
• Ability to work in a complex, conflict‑affected environment.
