Security Officer (Level 1)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Security Officer (Level 1) to join its East Team field office in Kassala, Sudan. This entry‑level position provides hands‑on experience in security management, supporting the safety of staff, assets and operations in a humanitarian environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Country Security Manager and Chief Field Office in daily security operations.
• Collect, analyse and present security‑related information and data.
• Support emergency and crisis preparedness activities.
• Help implement UN security policies, rules and procedures.
• Provide administrative assistance for security documentation and reporting.

Required profile

• Entry‑level professional with a willingness to learn UN security systems.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under supervision and follow established protocols.
• Good communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of security risk assessment concepts.
• Familiarity with data collection and reporting tools.
