Protection Team Leader – GBV (Re‑advertised)

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking an experienced GBV Team Leader to supervise and deliver high‑quality gender‑based violence (GBV) and psychosocial support (PSS) services in Um Dukhun, Sudan. The role provides technical guidance, coordination and strategic leadership to ensure survivor‑centred interventions are implemented effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise GBV case management and PSS activities, including coaching, mentoring, shadowing and regular case file audits.
• Oversee data collection, information management and compliance with GBV data protection protocols.
• Manage and supervise facilitators, community volunteers and the provision of dignity kits.
• Lead field assessments, safety audits, partner coordination, referrals and capacity‑building initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with donor and DRC regulations, support project planning and maintain oversight of WGSS field spaces.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of proven experience in GBV case management.
• Demonstrated team supervision and leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of survivor‑centred approaches and ability to handle high‑risk cases.
• University degree in Gender Studies, Psychology, Social Sciences, International Law, Humanitarian Affairs or a related field.
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Computer literacy with internet usage.
