Protection Officer – Humanitarian Programme (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Protection Officer will manage grants to local partners, provide technical oversight and ensure programme quality and donor compliance. The role includes capacity‑building, monitoring and evaluation support, and representing Trócaire at UN, NGO and coordination meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Support partners in implementing and tracking project activities, monitoring, evaluation, learning and budget monitoring.
• Ensure timely, quality narrative and financial reporting to meet donor requirements.
• Lead GBV trainings for partner staff and integrate GBV considerations across health, WASH and livelihood sectors.
• Oversee protection monitoring, produce situation updates and ensure conflict‑sensitive, inclusive interventions.
• Assist in developing new programme proposals and respond to emerging humanitarian needs.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Humanitarian/Development Studies, Gender, International Relations, Human Rights Law or related field.
• Minimum 3 years programme management experience, including at least 1 year in GBV programming.
• Experience working in humanitarian or insecure settings, preferably in South Kordofan or Sudan.
• Proven experience in capacity‑building of local NGOs.
