Project Management Specialist

About the role

UN Women is seeking a Project Management Specialist to lead the implementation of women’s economic empowerment interventions within a three‑year agricultural productivity project in Sudan. The role focuses on strengthening the care economy, expanding women’s economic opportunities, and fostering inclusive development for women and youth.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and manage UN Women interventions under the Women’s Economic Empowerment portfolio.
• Coordinate with project partners (WFP, FAO, UNICEF, CIMMYT) and local authorities to establish cooperatives and grant mechanisms.
• Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and monitoring & evaluation of project activities.
• Facilitate dialogue with communities to shift social norms and promote women’s leadership.
• Prepare regular reports for the Country Representative and ensure compliance with UN Women policies.

Required profile

• University degree in development studies, agriculture, economics, gender studies or a related field.
• Proven experience managing development or humanitarian projects, preferably in Sudan or similar contexts.
• Strong understanding of gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, and climate‑resilient agriculture.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
