Private Sector and Civil Society Engagement Consultant

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a consultant to support the African Development Bank‑funded Sudan Integrated Social Sector Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project (SISSIRP). The role focuses on strengthening private‑sector and civil‑society partnerships to enhance technical and vocational education and training (TVET), apprenticeships, and job placement for vulnerable groups.

Key responsibilities

• Engage private‑sector employers, business associations, and commerce groups across Aj Jazira, River Nile, Sennar, and White Nile to build partnerships for TVET and employment outcomes.
• Liaise with civil‑society organisations, community‑based groups, and women’s and youth networks to extend TVET and skills‑development activities to internally displaced persons, returnees, and women.
• Support planning, coordination, and field implementation of Labour Market Assessments in 20 target communities, working with national consultants, enumerators, and area coordinators.
• Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform TVET programme design and labour‑market linkages.
• Monitor partnership performance, ensure compliance with IOM regulations, and contribute to project documentation.

Required profile

• University degree in development studies, economics, social sciences, or a related field.
• Proven experience in private‑sector engagement, TVET programmes, or labour‑market analysis, preferably in Sudan or similar contexts.
• Strong ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including government, NGOs, and community groups.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an asset.
