About the role
The Peer Welfare & Psychosocial Coordinator will support Nonviolent Peaceforce’s expanding programme in Sudan by delivering direct protection and psychosocial assistance to communities affected by conflict. Working under the Head of Mission, the coordinator will travel across the country to ensure timely and effective welfare interventions.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and monitor welfare and psychosocial activities in line with NP’s Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP) approach.
- Coordinate protective accompaniment, rumor control, early warning and early response mechanisms.
- Facilitate community engagement and support peer networks to enhance resilience.
- Collect and analyse data on welfare needs, reporting findings to programme managers.
- Support the scaling‑up of NP’s operations by providing technical guidance to field teams.
Required profile
- Proven experience in humanitarian programmes, preferably in welfare or psychosocial support.
- Understanding of conflict dynamics and civilian protection concepts.
- Ability to travel frequently across Sudan and work in insecure environments.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with diverse stakeholders.
