Partnerships Specialist

About the role

The Partnerships Specialist will design and execute partnership and programme development plans for UNOPS Sudan, strengthening relationships with governments, UN agencies, donors and other stakeholders to mobilise resources and expand the office’s portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive partnership and programme development plan aligned with UNOPS strategic and regional priorities.
• Monitor humanitarian and development trends, research events and publications, and identify emerging partnership opportunities.
• Coordinate with global, national and liaison partnerships personnel, project managers and technical teams to ensure coherent engagement with partners.
• Lead negotiations, draft agreements and contractual documents, and manage the ERP records for partnership opportunities.
• Support advocacy, public information and communication initiatives in collaboration with the Communications team.
• Contribute to knowledge‑management tools, best‑practice research and capacity‑building for project managers on partnership negotiations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in international development, partnership and programme development, proposal writing and negotiation with UN agencies, governments, foundations or private‑sector organisations.
• Experience working in multicultural environments or UN system organisations in a developing country is desired.
• Background in development or humanitarian contexts and project/programme management is an advantage.
