About the role
The Partner Risk and Compliance Officer works closely with implementing partners to ensure that all project activities comply with SCI policies, donor regulations, and national laws. Through regular reviews, field visits and capacity‑building sessions, the Officer helps create transparent, ethical and high‑performing partnerships that support the Country Programme.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement a risk‑based annual compliance and assurance work plan for local partners.
- Conduct compliance reviews of partner finance, procurement, HR and supply‑chain processes.
- Carry out field visits to assess operational practices, internal controls and risk mitigation measures.
- Prepare and share compliance reports, track implementation of findings and maintain a digital library of partner policies and tools.
- Use the Partner Assessment Tool (PAT) to evaluate partner systems and support staff in documenting and mitigating risks.
- Participate in project kick‑off meetings, monitor partner‑related risk registers and ensure risks are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support investigations into suspected fraud, bribery, corruption or misconduct and manage related reporting obligations.
- Deliver fraud‑prevention awareness sessions and contribute to partner capacity‑building initiatives.
Required profile
- Proven experience conducting compliance reviews and risk assessments for implementing partners.
- Strong knowledge of donor regulations, national laws and SCI compliance standards.
- Ability to travel for field visits and work collaboratively with internal and external teams.
- Excellent analytical, reporting and communication skills.
