Operations Officer (Strategic Business Partner)

About the role

The Operations Officer will act as a Strategic Business Partner for UNICEF in Kassala, supporting the delivery of programmes that improve children’s lives. The role combines operational oversight, risk‑informed analysis and change facilitation across multiple functional areas.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational support in budget, financial management, reporting, facilities, administration, supply and logistics, ICT, human resources, and safety & security.
• Analyse business needs and propose value‑for‑money solutions.
• Support ICT management, information security and related controls.
• Implement procurement and logistics strategies that ensure value for money and meet programme requirements.
• Manage office premises with focus on accessibility, eco‑sustainability and shared spaces.
• Facilitate efficient business transactions, risk management and fraud prevention.
• Assist with external and internal audit reviews, respond to observations and monitor recommendation implementation.
• Contribute to the management of PSFR operations where applicable.

Required profile

• Accountable for a wide range of operations functions and able to drive change.
• Strong risk‑informed, solution‑focused analytical mindset.
• Experience supporting audit processes and implementing recommendations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with partners and internal teams.
