Operations Officer – Strategic Business Partner

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Operations Officer to act as a Strategic Business Partner for its country office in Kassala, Sudan. The incumbent will support the delivery of programmes for children by ensuring that all operational functions run efficiently, safely and in compliance with UNICEF standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and report on the office budget, financial transactions and procurement processes to ensure value for money.
• Oversee facilities, administration, and safety & security arrangements, including accessibility and eco‑sustainability of premises.
• Coordinate supply‑chain and logistics activities, from requisition to delivery, in line with programme needs.
• Support ICT management, information security controls and related service delivery.
• Provide human‑resources support, including staff onboarding, career development and performance monitoring.
• Identify, assess and mitigate operational risks, and contribute to fraud prevention measures.
• Assist with internal and external audit processes and follow‑up on recommendations.
• Collaborate with the Global Service Centre to streamline business transactions and improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience in multi‑disciplinary operational support within an international or humanitarian organization.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, procurement, logistics, ICT and HR processes.
• Ability to analyse risks and propose practical, cost‑effective solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and capacity to work with diverse partners and stakeholders.
