MEAL Coordinator – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

Welthungerhilfe is seeking a MEAL Coordinator to lead performance monitoring and learning for its 2026–2030 Country Strategy in Sudan. The role ensures rigorous, ethical, and protection‑sensitive data management while supporting food‑system, climate‑resilience, and humanitarian programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and periodically review the Country MEAL Strategy and action plan aligned with organizational and donor standards.
• Establish and strengthen MEAL standards, procedures, tools and quality‑assurance mechanisms for WHH and partner‑implemented programmes.
• Provide evidence‑based advice to senior leadership on programme performance, quality risks and adaptation opportunities.
• Translate the Country Strategy into an integrated performance and learning framework and coordinate regular portfolio reviews.
• Lead technical quality assurance across programme design, theories of change, logframes, indicators, sampling, data‑collection tools, AAP and evaluation requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading MEAL functions in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong capacity‑building skills to develop MEAL staff and strengthen partner teams.
• Ability to embed learning, evaluation use and adaptive management across a portfolio.
