MEAL Coordinator (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning)

About the role

Welthungerhilfe is seeking a MEAL Coordinator to lead performance monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning for its 2026‑2030 Country Strategy in Sudan. The role ensures rigorous, ethical, and protection‑sensitive data management and supports evidence‑based decision‑making across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and periodically review the Country MEAL Strategy and action plan aligned with organizational and donor standards.
• Establish and strengthen MEAL standards, procedures, tools and quality‑assurance mechanisms for WHH and partner‑implemented programmes.
• Provide evidence‑based advice to senior leadership on programme performance, risks, evidence gaps and adaptation opportunities.
• Translate the Country Strategy into an integrated performance and learning framework and coordinate regular portfolio reviews.
• Offer technical leadership and quality assurance for programme design, theories of change, logframes, indicators, sampling, data‑collection tools and evaluation requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading MEAL functions within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of food systems, climate resilience, equitable partnerships and localisation.
• Ability to build capacity of programme teams and partners and embed learning and adaptive management.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
