MEAL Coordinator

About the role

The MEAL Coordinator will lead performance monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning for Welthungerhilfe’s 2026‑2030 Country Strategy in Sudan. The role ensures rigorous, ethical, and protection‑sensitive data management while embedding adaptive management across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and periodically review the Country MEAL Strategy and action plan in line with WHH Sudan’s strategy, donor and sector standards.
• Establish and strengthen MEAL standards, procedures, tools and quality‑assurance mechanisms for WHH and partner‑implemented programmes.
• Provide evidence‑based advice to senior leadership on programme performance, quality risks, evidence gaps and adaptation opportunities.
• Translate the Country Strategy into an integrated performance and learning framework and coordinate regular portfolio performance and quality reviews.
• Offer technical leadership and quality assurance for programme design, theories of change, logframes, indicators, sampling, data‑collection tools, AAP and evaluation requirements.
• Ensure proper application of WHH’s Measuring Success framework and related monitoring tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading MEAL teams and building capacity of programme staff and partners.
• Strong understanding of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Ability to provide strategic, evidence‑based recommendations to senior management.
