MEAL Coordinator

About the role

Welthungerhilfe is seeking a MEAL Coordinator to lead performance monitoring and learning for its 2026‑2030 Country Strategy in Sudan. Based in Khartoum, the role will ensure rigorous, ethical and protection‑sensitive data management across humanitarian and development programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and periodically review the Country MEAL Strategy and action plan in line with organisational and donor standards.
• Establish and maintain MEAL standards, procedures, tools and quality‑assurance mechanisms for WHH and partner‑implemented programmes.
• Provide evidence‑based advice to senior leadership on programme performance, quality risks and adaptation opportunities.
• Translate the Country Strategy into an integrated performance and learning framework and coordinate regular portfolio reviews.
• Lead technical quality assurance for programme design, theories of change, logframes, indicators, sampling plans and data‑collection tools.
• Oversee the application of WHH’s Measuring Success framework and ensure accountability‑to‑beneficiaries processes are in place.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (e.g., International Development, Social Sciences, Statistics) or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop MEAL staff and to build capacity of partners.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in evidence‑based decision‑making and adaptive management.
