MEAL Coordinator

About the role

Welthungerhilfe is seeking a MEAL Coordinator to lead performance monitoring and learning for its 2026–2030 Country Strategy in Sudan. The role ensures rigorous, ethical, and protection‑sensitive data collection, evaluation and accountability across all programmes, supporting evidence‑based decision‑making and adaptive management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and periodically review the Country MEAL Strategy and action plan aligned with organizational and donor standards.
• Establish and strengthen MEAL standards, procedures, tools and quality‑assurance mechanisms for WHH and partner‑implemented programmes.
• Provide evidence‑based advice to senior leadership on programme performance, risks, evidence gaps and adaptation opportunities.
• Translate the Country Strategy into an integrated performance and learning framework and coordinate regular portfolio reviews.
• Lead technical quality assurance across programme design, theories of change, logframes, indicators, sampling, data‑collection tools and evaluation requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven experience leading and developing MEAL teams and building capacity of partners.
• Strong understanding of food‑systems, climate resilience, equitable partnerships and localisation.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and communication skills, with a focus on ethical and protection‑sensitive approaches.
