MEAL Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a MEAL Coordinator to lead performance monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning for our 2026‑2030 Country Strategy in Sudan. Based in Khartoum, you will ensure that data collection, analysis and reporting are rigorous, ethical and useful for adaptive management across humanitarian and development programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and periodically review the country MEAL strategy and action plan aligned with organizational and donor standards.
• Establish and maintain MEAL standards, tools, procedures and quality‑assurance mechanisms for WHH and partner programmes.
• Provide evidence‑based advice to senior leadership on programme performance, risks, evidence gaps and adaptation opportunities.
• Translate the Country Strategy into an integrated performance and learning framework and coordinate regular portfolio reviews.
• Lead technical quality assurance for programme design, theories of change, logframes, indicators, sampling plans, data‑collection tools and accountability mechanisms.
• Manage and mentor MEAL staff, build capacity of programme teams and partners, and embed learning and adaptive management across the portfolio.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (e.g., International Development, Social Sciences, Statistics) and several years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven ability to lead a MEAL team, work with partners and ensure ethical, protection‑sensitive data practices.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience translating strategic objectives into measurable indicators and learning processes.
