INGO Forum Access Advisor

About the role

The INGO Forum Access Advisor will support the Sudan INGO Forum in improving humanitarian access and coordination across the country. Based primarily in Nyala or Khartoum, the role requires extensive travel (at least 50% of the time) to reach hard‑to‑access areas and work directly with partners, authorities and donors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Humanitarian Access Working Group (HAWG) alongside OCHA and other stakeholders.
• Monitor and analyse access constraints, produce regular reports and recommend mitigation measures.
• Facilitate common service provision and shared resources among INGO Forum members.
• Engage with government authorities, donor agencies and other humanitarian actors to advocate for safe and unrestricted access.
• Support the Advocacy Working Group in national, regional and international advocacy efforts.
• Ensure compliance with Mercy Corps risk‑level protocols and maintain accurate documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian coordination or access management, preferably in Sudan or similar contexts.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively in challenging environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
