Finance Technical Assistant – Kadugli, Sudan (Nationals Only)

About the role

The Finance Technical Assistant supports the implementation of NRC’s finance and cash management functions in Kadugli, Sudan. The role ensures day‑to‑day financial operations run smoothly, maintains accurate records, and contributes to the overall efficiency of the support function.

Key responsibilities

• Implement support‑function activities in line with NRC policies and plans.
• Prepare status reports and ensure proper filing of documents.
• Manage petty cash, cash box, and cash payments on a daily basis.
• Maintain up‑to‑date project accounts and financial records in the system.
• Prepare payment requests, process invoices, and ensure timely settlement of undisputed amounts.
• Perform cash and bank reconciliations and conduct regular cash counts.
• Track cash advances and ensure timely clearance.
• Verify completeness and accuracy of supporting documents before transactions.
• Lead scanning and online archiving of transaction documents according to NRC SSD policy.
• Maintain confidentiality of program operations and actively participate in cash programming.
• Coordinate with logistics & procurement, local authorities, auditors, and vendors as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Support Function Assistant in a humanitarian or recovery context.
• Experience working in complex and volatile environments.
• Demonstrated results related to finance and cash management responsibilities.
• Fluent English; Arabic is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
