About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a dynamic leader to coordinate its Economy Recovery and Development (ERD) program in Sudan. Reporting to the Sudan West Deputy Director of Programs, the coordinator will oversee cash and voucher assistance, multipurpose cash programmes, and lay the groundwork for future livelihood and market‑based recovery initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of cash‑based assistance and basic needs programmes.
- Collaborate with local partners and limited financial service providers to ensure timely and high‑quality delivery.
- Identify growth opportunities for market‑based recovery, including livelihoods, agriculture, and market support.
- Develop strategic directions for cash‑based programming across outcomes.
- Provide operational judgement in a constrained environment, addressing access challenges and partner reliance.
- Coordinate with global and regional advisors to align country‑level activities with IRC standards.
Required profile
- Proven experience in humanitarian cash assistance, emergency response, or economic recovery programmes.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with local partners and navigate limited financial service options.
- Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of local context in Sudan is a plus.
