Gender-Based Violence and Conflict-Related Sexual Violence Specialist

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Conflict-Related Sexual Violence (CRSV) Specialist to lead a new project in Sudan. The role will focus on improving the wellbeing of survivors and their families while working to reduce GBV and CRSV across targeted states.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct assessments to understand drivers of GBV and CRSV in the operational areas.
• Design and implement inclusive service delivery models for survivors.
• Coordinate with local partners, authorities, and community leaders to strengthen protection mechanisms.
• Monitor and evaluate program impact, ensuring data-driven adjustments.
• Provide technical guidance and capacity building for staff and partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in GBV/CRSV programming within humanitarian contexts.
• Strong knowledge of protection standards and best practices.
• Ability to work in complex, insecure environments.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.

Required skills

• Experience with GBV risk mapping and survivor-centered service design.
• Familiarity with international humanitarian guidelines (e.g., IASC, UNHCR).
• Capacity to lead multi‑stakeholder coordination.
