Economic Recovery Officer

About the role

The Economic Recovery Officer will lead the design, implementation and monitoring of livelihoods and economic recovery programmes for conflict‑affected and displaced communities in Sudan. The role focuses on cash‑for‑work, vocational training, entrepreneurship, MSME support and financial inclusion to boost income generation and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and supervise cash‑for‑work, TVET, entrepreneurship and MSME activities.
• Conduct market and community needs assessments to identify viable livelihood opportunities.
• Oversee field‑level delivery, ensuring quality, timeliness and compliance with DRC guidelines.
• Facilitate transparent beneficiary selection in coordination with local leaders.
• Maintain relationships with persons of concern, local authorities and humanitarian partners.
• Prepare reports, documentation and ensure proper financial tracking of programme funds.

Required profile

• Experience in humanitarian livelihoods or economic recovery programmes.
• Strong understanding of cash‑for‑work, vocational training and MSME support mechanisms.
• Ability to work in conflict‑affected settings and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Good analytical skills for market assessments and programme monitoring.
