Disaster Risk Management Programme Delegate – Sudan

About the role

The Danish Red Cross is seeking a Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Programme Delegate to support the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS) in delivering high‑impact humanitarian programmes across Sudan. You will guide SRCS in emergency preparedness, response and recovery, with a focus on cash and voucher assistance and building institutional and community resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational guidance to SRCS on disaster management, emergency preparedness, response and recovery, emphasizing cash and voucher assistance.
• Collaborate with SRCS staff to design conflict‑sensitive project concepts and evidence‑based proposals.
• Support the development of SRCS DRM policies, strategies and standard operating procedures.
• Monitor resource allocation, project activities and budget utilization, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency.
• Strengthen SRCS monitoring and evaluation capacity through training and technical support.
• Participate in regional and global coordination meetings related to disaster risk management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in emergency response, project management, humanitarian studies, international relations or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in emergency operations, humanitarian programme planning, management and coordination, preferably in conflict‑affected or post‑crisis settings.
• Demonstrated field experience across multiple phases of disaster risk management.
