Area Support Manager – Sudan Darfur (Multiple Positions)

About the role

The Area Support Manager (ASM) will support NRC’s extensive operations across Darfur, coordinating HR, finance and logistics functions to ensure timely, high-quality programming for displaced families. Reporting to the Area Manager, the ASM will off-load support tasks and provide senior-level leadership within the Area Office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage directly reporting staff, overseeing performance, goal-setting and professional development.
• Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, staff induction and duty-of-care processes.
• Ensure compliance with NRC policies, donor requirements and audit standards.
• Coordinate the Area Support Budget, monitor support costs and produce regular financial and operational reports for the Country Office.
• Implement and adapt country-specific SOPs, guidelines and tools for HR, finance, logistics/ICT.
• Facilitate trainings for programme staff on finance, logistics and HR procedures.
• Provide technical capacity-building for support teams and conduct spot-checks on documentation quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience in line management and staff supervision.
• Strong knowledge of HR, finance and logistics processes in humanitarian settings.
• Ability to ensure compliance with organisational policies and donor requirements.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to align support functions with programme plans.
