Health & Nutrition Manager

About the role

The Health & Nutrition Manager will lead humanitarian health initiatives for Samaritan's Purse in Eastern Sudan. This position combines program leadership, partnership coordination, and on‑the‑ground supervision to improve health outcomes in line with Ministry of Health and WHO protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Sudanese Ministry of Health and other partners to implement health and nutrition activities according to national and WHO clinical guidelines.
• Lead and align Samaritan's Purse clinical teams with Ministry of Health professionals.
• Collaborate with the International Health Unit throughout program implementation.
• Develop program proposals, logical frameworks, budgets, and educational outreach materials.
• Respond to emerging health and nutrition emergencies as needed.
• Supervise 5‑8 senior staff, handling recruitment, training, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of experience managing health programs in the NGO sector.
• Proven ability to work in remote, austere environments.
• Strong knowledge of health and nutrition best practices.
• Experience with inventory management, distribution, monitoring & evaluation, and overall program management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing.
• Preferred: twelve credit hours of Biblical Studies.
