Compensation and Benefit Senior Officer

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a senior professional to lead its compensation and benefits function. This role will ensure that the organization’s pay and benefit programs are competitive, cost‑effective, and aligned with the IRC’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Research and benchmark compensation and benefits policies against the labor market and sister INGOs.
• Design and implement salary structures, classification systems, and bonus programs for staff and management.
• Administer benefits programs including disability, life insurance, workers’ compensation, employee assistance, and retirement plans.
• Ensure compliance with local legislation, pay‑equity standards, and internal approval processes.
• Prepare reports, memos, and recommendations based on market analysis and budget forecasts.
• Manage the medical insurance program for national staff, including enrollment, dependents, and claim processing.
• Monitor trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and propose new practices to attract and retain talent.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in compensation and benefits design and administration.
• Strong analytical skills for market research, cost analysis, and budget forecasting.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and pay‑equity principles.
• Ability to develop clear policies, guidelines, and communication materials.
