QA/QC Engineer - Storage Tanks

About the role

Flash Point Engineering is looking for a qualified and experienced QA/QC Engineer to join its team on petroleum storage depot construction projects in Sudan. The role covers quality control and inspection of storage tanks and related works.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials and verify material certificates and traceability.
• Witness welding activities and verify WPS/PQR, welder qualifications and NDT reports.
• Inspect storage tank fabrication and erection in line with API 650.
• Monitor fit-up, dimensional checks, weld inspections, hydrostatic testing and tank foundation acceptance.
• Review ITPs, method statements, inspection requests (IRs), NCRs and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with the project Quality Plan and coordinate with the contractor, client and PMC team during construction.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Proven QA/QC experience in petroleum storage tank construction and oil and gas projects.
• Ability to relocate inside Sudan and work on site.
• PMc or client-side inspection experience is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of API 650, welding inspection, NDT and quality documentation.
• CSWIP / AWS CWI / API or similar certifications are an advantage.
